Renewable Energy Substations

T2 Energy specialises in the design and manufacture of electrical and mechanical fabricated equipment for grid connected solar farms and wind farms.

Our 22/33kV substation design is flexible and can be configured to project requirements to satisfy client design criteria. Medium Voltage switchboards and all control room equipment is installed, cabled, and tested in our factory, and is able to be pre-commissioned by our clients prior to despatch to site.

T2 Energy manufactures custom-built transportable switchroom buildings and cost-effective containerised switchroom buildings, which generally include the following on completion of the solar or wind farm substation:

  • 22kV/33kV Switchboard(s), including protection relays and relay programming
  • 415VAC Main Switchboard
  • AC and DC Standby Power
    • Battery Chargers, UPS, Battery Banks
  • Metering Panels, including Power Quality Metering, Revenue & Check Metering
  • 66kV (or 132kV) Transformer and Line Protection Panels
  • SCADA and Communications Panels
  • Fire Systems
    • FIP Panels, VESDA units, smoke detectors, MCP’s, alarms, etc installed, cabled, and tested
    • Gas Suppression Systems for switchrooms
  • Airconditioning System, rated for heat loading and redundancy requirements.

Outdoor MV Switchgear Enclosures and Padmounted Transformer Kiosks

Outdoor MV switchgear enclosures and padmounted transformer kiosks are designed and manufactured to meet the particular requirements of each solar farm or wind farm project, with switchgear and transformers supplied by reputable multinational manufacturers.

Padmounted transformer kiosks typically include:

  • 22kV/33kV switchgear (RMU’s)
  • Converter transformers (2 or 3 winding)
  • Low voltage end, or busbars suitable for connecting large solar inverter cables (where solar inverters are stand-alone equipment)
